Images of Recent Firefighter Training

We are all reminded of the importance and presence of our volunteer firefighters and first responders when we hear the sirens of an emergency vehicle on the way to another call. The Roxton Volunteer Fire Department responds to emergencies -- medical emergencies, fires, vehicle accidents, electrical lines across the road -- and a host of other calls on a regular basis. Even though Roxton is a small town, it and the surrounding area are populated, and whenever there are people there are going to be emergencies. 

Even though the average citizen doesn’t give the firefighters or first responders much thought until the sound of a siren, the individuals who give of their time are active every day of the week. They are always in training, whether it is going over procedures in their minds or attending formal training events. Recently, 18 area firefighters attended formal training to keep their skills at a high level. We should all be appreciative of their efforts.
